Who we are and what we do
ASP is a Civil and Structural Consulting Engineering Design company. The company strives to produce cost effective design services encompassing the latest design standards for design and supervision as required. The company comprises 8 employees and is currently owned in whole by the Directors. Principal clients include large industrial corporations, developers, estate management companies, theme parks and private individuals for domestic works.
Looking after Employees
To retain loyal and productive staff, it is vital to maintain a good working environment. In this section, you could refer to any of the following:
- The company is an Equal Opportunities Employer as per the Human Rights Act 2010, employs engineers and office personnel of various ethnic origins and adopts a sincere policy in line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
- The Company has employment contract conditions as prepared by Peninsular HR consultants and adopts the procedures developed by them in accordance with current regulation requirements.
- Staff training, appraisals and personal development are all as stated within the above employment pack which all employees have received and have signed copies.
- There are regular meetings with all staff to ensure good communications with regard to all non-financial aspects of the business
- All staff have written terms and conditions which spell out the salaries and benefits of employment, and due to the nature of the business requiring certain skills, salaries are all in excess of national minimum wage.
- The Company has set policies and procedures to ensure any HR matters are dealt with appropriately.
Looking after Clients
It is so important to look after your customers, to make sure that they have a positive and lasting impression of your business. In this section, you could refer to any of the following:
- The company has regular contact with clients to ensure customer satisfaction is retained
- The company reviews designs over £3500 fee value for consistency of quality and inherently checks safety issues by initial Design Risk Assessment and ongoing review of safety of design. All calculations are checked prior to issue by other engineers within the office.
- The company confirms briefs of projects over £3500 fee value by email or in writing, smaller projects are also itemised in the fee proposal submitted for approval before commencement of design works.
Suppliers’ Standards
It is vital to ensure that you use good suppliers and maintain a good working relationship with them. In this section, you could include information on any of the following:
- Most work is carried out by the company in-house. Suppliers are required to submit a statement regarding their adherence to the Modern Slavery Act 2015 prior to commission of works.
- The company does not accept nor condone any suppliers suspected of contravening the Bribery Act 2010
- The company only uses local suppliers for larger items for surveying, stationery and safety equipment.
- The company pay suppliers in accordance with the terms and conditions of their invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Where required the company request evidence that they have a CSR policy in place.
- The company are committed to clear communications with suppliers for their specific services
Protecting the Environment
It is company policy to reduce to a minimum the use of paper, electricity use and to re-cycle materials as far as is reasonably practicable. Printer cartridges for example are sent to the suppliers for recycling.
The company encourages greener transport by doing any of the following:
- Encourage staff to walk, or use public transport to get to project locations if possible.
- Encourage staff to use greener fuels in their personal vehicles if possible
